The manner in which any load is transmitted through a load cell has a major impact on the accuracy and repeatability that can be achieved from a system. As a result the mounting / weighing assembly around the load cell is of paramount importance. Some load cells are more susceptible to unwanted force paths and this is an important consideration when designing load cells into the weigh system.
Although mounting / weighing assemblies provide self aligning or levelling facilities, these should not be used to compensate for poor mechanical design within the structure.
